Today I tried the new search engine bing.com beta from Microsoft. Something really special happened. Since my tries I don’t know who I am anymore. First I searched for one of my best buddies, his name is Boris Wollny and see what bing.com sent me as the picture result.

Since today digg doesn’t allow shouting anymore. What was a “shout” ? If you submitted an article or you find a good article at digg you could share this article with your friends. For sharing the article you sent a “shout” to them. If you wanted to communicate with one of your friends you could sent him a “shout” (message).

Today I saw a interesting map on the page of informationarchitects.jp. The WEB Trend Map 2009. This japanese company publishes every year this map with the most important Internet domains and the most important Internet personalities. The nice idea was to map the domains and personalities on a map of the Tokyo subway system.
This year they mapped the 333 most important domains and the 111 most important personalities.

I started using the TAGME plugin a couple month ago. It was really fun to tag your friends and other people
with nice tags. You can decide that TAGME puts a tag cloud on your myspace page with the tags you get. For tagging they offer a kind of tag cloud where you can pick your tag for somebody or you can make a own one. See the example:

Many people ask how they can get a high frequency of tweets for twitter.com and feeds for friendfeed.com. In the same time they don´t know how to promote the own blog. The easiest way is to combine all services. At least you can post everything full automatically to you facebook.com and myspace.com page. Here I´ll show one way how to do it. The advantage of this way is, that even if you have no time to write something by yourself you always post news on all pages.

The question is” How to make your blog more visible in the net ?” One of the first steps I made to promote my blog was to publish my posts at facebook and myspace. There are many different ways to do this but only a view of this possibilities are really satisfactory.

The basic condition for publishing your blog is to have a RSS feed or a ATOM feed on the blog.

You can find a couple Facebookapplications that imports RSS feeds to Facebook. For example RSS-connect, Simply RSS and Blog RSS Feed Reader. I tried all this readers but with all I had the same problem. With every application you get feeds from more than one blog but I only could publish this feeds in a box or a new tab on my profile. Since 5/2005 I am member of xing.com (www.xing.com) formerly known as openbc. The first German business community. Many people I know from my job I am connected over Xing today. An advantage of being member of such a  B2B community is the fact that nearly every member keep the profile actual. I am still using this portal for find people who can offer me what I need for the job like products and informations. Until a couple month xing was my most important platform. This changed with being member in other social web 2.0 communities. Today most of my profiles in the net are merged over open API applications (API:application programming interface). xing doesn’t offer an open API. So my xing profile is not merged with my other profiles. I believe if xing will not offer such an API in a short time they will loose more and more share of the market.

In 1999 Shawn Fanning developed the napster software. The first software to share files over a P2P network. Napster was directly followed by winmx. I remember it was 1999 as I tried friendscout24.  It was one of the first dating portals in Germany. As I came to friendscout there were maybe 100 thousand  members on the platform. After 2 weeks you nearly knew the most of the people out of your own area. Today they have more than 10 Million members. The spectrum of possibilities to communicate was limited.
