My first contact with the Internet was around 1988. The most people associat internet with WWW but the WWW service came up around 1993. In 1988 E-Mail service was brand new and it was the first of two services I used. The second service I used was FTP (file transfer protocol). FTP exists since 1971. The final version of ftp was made in 1985 and itś the version we still use today. I built my first own homepage in 1994 and it was first time I was listed in a search engine. It was a time you had nearly no viruses and no spam. The fastest speed on your private Internet connection was 9600 to 14400 baud.
